Killing Us Softly: The only reason we need to NOT vote for Donald Trump.
The simple truth is, Mr. Trump is not pro-life. He only advocates certain controls on abortion. It is simply not correct to call him pro-life. At least not according to what is our definition of being pro-life.
Please watch the attached video to see him express his views on an episode of Meet the Press. At 17 minutes and 20 seconds they begin to discuss this issue:
While he fumbles through his answer several times, it is clear he is not for ending abortion. Rather, he seems to have no issue with a simple ban on abortions after 15 weeks. If that is the number that “both sides” comes up with during a committee meeting on the subject.
He consistently comes back to that number and also makes the logical fallacy of appealing to an authority for the right answer, in this case, the authority being a “committee.”
According to multiple sources listed below, 93 to 96 percent of all abortions take place at or before 15 weeks. (This is data compiled in the years 2019-2021.) How can we pretend a candidate is pro-life if his so-called pro-life stance is only for saving the lives of 4 to 7 percent of those who could potentially be aborted in the future?
And that extremely low percentage of potentially aborted babies he would be willing to save actually gets lower. This is because the vast majority of abortions that occur after 15 weeks happen because women have been told that the baby will not live or will cause the death of the mother. This is a particular exception that Mr. Trump says should always be required.
Mr. Trump even had the audacity to criticize Florida’s Heartbeat Bill which Governor DeSantis signed last year as being a “terrible thing”.
And even if 15 weeks were acceptable, that number, having no real foundation in logic or science, will someday change in the name of moderation and convenience. Because 15 weeks is the same as 16 weeks, and 16 weeks is the same as 9 months, and 9 months is the same as 29 days after birth.

The only acceptable definition of life in regards to abortion is: before conception and after conception.
In the above photos, the baby does not look like what we would think of when we think of a baby. But, this is exactly how the baby should look according to his or her current level of development.
Just as we would not expect a 5 year old girl to have the same outward physical developments as an 18 year old girl would have, the girl who is less developed is not less of a person. And, they are both developed correctly according to their expected level of development.
Below IS an example of what we think of when we think of a baby. And, this is the age at which Mr. Trump seems to have no issue with murdering in the womb so long as a “committee” tells him that’s the number of weeks that is okay to murder him or her at.

Granted, Mr. Trump continues to claim, in many places, that he is fine with the states making their own decisions on abortion laws. But, are human rights issues something that individual states should truly assess for themselves?
Would we ever say that slavery is a state issue? Every state has to make their own decision as to whether slavery is right or moral?
Or that maybe slavery of only certain people groups is okay?
Maybe only people who are developmentally challenged should be enslaved since they are not full members of society due to their handicaps?
Obviously morality is regional. Slavery in one place is acceptable, but maybe not right for another place.
Would we ever really accept such a thing from someone’s mouth today?
We contend we would not.
In addition, we do not believe that the president or the states has the legal authority, or even responsibility, to fix this issue. The 14th amendment of the constitution protects human life, the issue is that the supreme court has not made a ruling on whether an unborn baby is a human being.
“The judicial Power shall extend to all Cases, in Law and Equity, arising under this Constitution,” (U. S. Constitution, Article 3, Section 2.)
Do not pre-born humans deserve to be treated the same as humans outside the womb?
“No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”
(Bill of Rights, Amendment 14, part 1.)
So, in other words, no American citizen is supposed to be put to death without the “due process of law,” isn’t hard to put a baby on trial when he or she is not even allowed to be born in the first place?
But let us remember, that what defines a baby in the womb is the definition God has given us. The court just needs to recognize a definition that is already written on our hearts.
According to Justice Harry Blackmun during the original Roe v. Wade trial in 1973:
“If this suggestion of personhood is established, the appellant’s case, of course, collapses, for the fetus’ right to life would then be guaranteed specifically by the Amendment.” However, Justice Blackmun then came to the conclusion “that the word ‘person,’ as used in the Fourteenth Amendment, does not include the unborn.
The state of Texas made the argument that pre-born babies deserve to be protected under the 14th amendment, and that was essentially the court’s response and so that is the entire reason why Roe v. Wade even became law.
Trump had nothing to do with Roe v. Wade being overturned. Legally it should have been overturned once it was discovered (decades ago) that the entire case hinged on the lie that a woman had been raped. It was always a lie. It was always an unconstitutional ruling.
Children should never be punished for the crimes of the father. And conception from rape should not be an exception. There are currently no states that put rapists to death for their crimes, yet we do not even blink when someone says abortion is fine in the case of rape. That is literally giving an innocent child the death penalty for the crimes of his father.
Secular science has changed quite a bit since 1973 when Justice Blackmun uttered his sad words, and most scientists now openly admit that unborn babies are humans because no new information is added after conception. So, legally, scientifically and morally, abortion is murder.
Some Christians, and others, say that abortion is not a make it or break it issue. But, shouldn’t protecting the lives of the pre-born be a make it or break it issue?
What if you had 5 or more children, and you were considering a candidate with whom you agree on 99 percent of his stance on the issues. But that pesky little one percent was about his belief that our world is over populated and so he believes that all current and future families should only have a maximum of 4 children. Therefore, to protect the world from overpopulation and resource depletion, those families with additional children must euthanize their 5th or above child?
Crazy, right?
Somehow, when it is about our own children’s lives being spared from maniac political policies, it is a MAKE IT OR BREAK IT ISSUE.
“As Christians we must refuse to allow the sanctity of human life to be relegated to and decided by the ever-changing winds of “politics.” As I saw in Louisiana years ago, it is an issue of central spiritual importance to every individual believer and to the church as a whole.” (Tony Perkins, Answers Magazine)
Still others claim that if we do not cast our vote for one of the big two candidates, it is a wasted vote.
To us, this is not logical.
Casting a vote for someone who does not deserve to be in the oval office, is a waste of a vote.
Perhaps we are too concerned with our vote counting to a man-made political system, and a country that is not eternal, and not worried enough about how our vote looks to our Creator.

We understand being concerned about where our country is going. It is our contention, however, that the persons in leadership are a symptom, or even a punishment, for what is wrong with the whole nation.
Roe v. Wade legalized abortion in 1973.
Where were the Christians all this time? Why haven’t the hearts of the nation started turning back towards our Biblical roots and changed the nation from our hearts up? Has the church been waiting for ONE MAN to somehow change the nation all on his own?
The president of the United States is a powerful, political position. But, quite frankly, it is not as powerful as many people believe. Despite all the campaign promises that every candidate makes, none of them can deliver on any of them except where their political party has control over the congress who ACTUALLY makes the laws.
More than that, God makes it clear that He puts rulers in power. We should most certainly vote, but our vote should truly reflect a man who deserves this position.
Now, where are the churches preaching against fornication? Is abortion not truly a trickle down sin from the rampant sin of fornication? Why is there so much preteen and teen dating in churches? Why are we copying the world’s practices in regards to dating, divorce, fornication and abortion?
Change comes from the hearts of the individuals changing in our nation, not from one man in one powerful position.
God blesses godly people.
Proverbs 16:7
“When a man’s ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.”
It is our belief that Mr. Trump is attempting to get back in power through whatever means he deems necessary and that includes dragging conservative Christians into the trenches of being “moderate.”
If we compromise on this issue, we will only become compromised ourselves.
We contend moderate, could simply be restated as lukewarm.
In a sermon in 1874, Charles Spurgeon expressed his views on what the Bible says about a lukewarm church.
When churches get into the condition of half-hearted faith, tolerating the gospel, but having a sweet tooth for error, they do far more mischief to their age than downright heretics.
Cold makes us shiver, and great heat causes us pain, but a tepid bath is comfort itself. Such a temperature suits human nature. The world is always at peace with a lukewarm church, and such a church is always pleased with itself.
We don’t know about you, but we do not like the sound of being spat right out of Jesus’ mouth. Yuck. (Revelations 3:14-21)
Several news outlets claim that Mr. Trump has heavily influenced the Republican National Committee’s most recent official platform.
While none of us can know what happened behind their closed doors as they drafted it for the upcoming 2024 convention, it matches with his outspoken views on the subject of abortion.
“After 51 years, because of us, that power has been given to the States and to a vote of the People.” (Chapter 9, part 4)
While it does go on to say that they will oppose late term abortion, this is a departure from the usual desire to protect humans rights from conception.
“Tony Perkins, the president of the Family Research Council and a member of the platform committee, expressed disappointment about the outcome. “The 2024 platform is a decent statement of campaign priorities, but not necessarily the enduring principles of the party,” he said in a statement that objected to the lack of opportunity for amendments. ‘Unfortunately, the process was unbecoming of constitutional conservatives.’”
On his website, Mr. Trump does not even directly address abortion, although he does find space to say he will take men out of women’s sports.
Every issue he does address has to do with our personal safety, comfort and fattening our pocketbook. And every issue he does claim he will deliver on would require that he actually has control of congress, which is doubtful.
But the lives of the pre-born do not warrant his attention on his platform directly.
This should raise concerns.
His own words should cause us all to pause.
Is he dragging Christians into the accepting of lukewarm policies on the basis of abortion so that he can pull in other voters?
This sounds a lot like someone who simply does not care about the pre-born, and, therefore, has no place as the head of the most powerful nation on earth.
Judge him by his fruits, and he starts to look pretty rotten.
As we head to vote this November, we wish to honor God through properly exercising this wonderful liberty he has blessed us with, and not to waste our vote on someone who increasingly panders to the majority instead of standing firmly for Biblical morals.
